I simply love detective thrillers and this is just one of the many reasons that prompted me to accept the offer of reviewing The Tech. The book, written by Mark Ravine appealed to from the moment I heard its name, as it seemed to be the perfect potpourri of all the elements I love in a book. When I received the book, I was relieved to find that my intuition had proved right as the cover page reflected the theme of the book quite vividly.
Alexandra Cassidy, a successful special agent known for her rebellious nature and her blunt speech, is transferred to the backwaters of Arizona. Here, she finds herself heading a motley crew of agents, each of whom has a professional record with some black spot. Within no time she and her team get busy solving case after case, which all seem to be mysteriously connected. She soon finds herself unraveling the threads of a massive conspiracy that leads her to a secret organization with immense power and authority. Then as witnesses start to disappear and suspects are killed, an elusive figure steps forward to help her. But can Cassidy trust this helper even as the threat to her own life and the lives of her team members continues to grow?
It has been a long time since I read a book that held me completely captive until  I finished reading the very last page. Despite being the debut thriller of the author, it gives the feel of having been written by a seasoned writer. Despite its extremely fast-paced narrative, the story is interesting enough to keep the readers hooked until the very end. The author has used an extremely simple language which makes understanding the various scenarios quite simple. Personally, I found the book to be a truly great addition to my collection and hope to enjoy more such novels from Mark really soon.

I got the book as a part of the review program in Outset”
