It is said that love makes the world go round and although I did not believe the saying earlier, my views have changed after reading some really good romance novels. In this genre, Ajitabha Bose really impressed me as a writer who knows his stuff. That is why I was really excited about reviewing his latest book Until We Meet Again. When I received the book I was actually impressed by the fact that its cover features the widely loved web series pair of Ayush Sharma and Barkha Singh, which further raised my expectations from the book.
The book narrates the tale of Karan and Shivangi, two most unlikely people to ever fall in love. While Karan is just a simple, next door guy, Shivangi is more ambitious and has big dreams. However, despite the fact that Shivangi comes from an orthodox family, she and Karan are united by the courage of their love for one another. The two, run away to find a new life, but as mostly happens, fate has other plans for them. As the couple faces various trials and tribulations, will their love emerge the winner or will theirs be yet another incomplete and heartbreaking love story?
Until We Meet Again cannot be classified exclusively as a love story. Although the complicated and unspoken love between Karan and Shivangi forms the mainstay of the book, it also tries to address various social issues including honor killing, child marriage, politics of revenge, drugs, crime, and even terrorism. The book has multiple twists and turns which add to the thrill of the story and make it even more interesting. However, the unexpected ending of the book is its biggest attraction and one that highlights the brilliance of the writer. I wish Ajitabh all the best with this novel and hope that we get to read another equally interesting love saga penned by him very soon.
