Poetry is one of the most beautiful ways to express a wide range of emotions and everyday experiences and reading a collection of good poems can prove to be an extremely relaxing and refreshing experience. Although I rarely get the opportunity to review poetry books, Pebbles On Paper proved to be an exception. The book is a collection of poems penned by Swati Khatri and presents various emotions and thoughts experienced by people through the journey of life.
The cover page of the book perfectly reflects its title and features the two hands of a lady picking up pebbles. The book is divided into twelve parts with each part featuring poems belonging to a specific category. These categories include Art, Self Love, Motivation, Pain, and even Reflections of Life. This beautifully constructed book is real, raw, and motivational, with each poem offering something for the readers to learn from. I loved most of the poems, although some of them were too prose-like. However, the book definitely has its heart in the right place with the rhyme and rhythm of a majority of poems being absolutely perfect.
The most important thing that I loved about Pebbles On Paper is its crisp and lucid language as well as the metaphorical presentation of ideas that make them relatable. Even though the poems are not interconnected, they take the readers on a journey of self-realization and self-discovery. I have reviewed only a handful of poetry books and I have no doubts while stating that this book definitely proved to be a valuable addition to my collection. I also appreciate Swati’s decision to present this wonderful bouquet of emotions to the world through this book and hope and pray for its phenomenal success.
