Cupid Is An Accountant By Shreyas Joshi – A Short Breezy Romance With A Twist

While most authors prefer to write love stories, only a few can come up with a truly unique plot. Shreyas Joshi falls in this latter category of authors with his latest offering named Cupid Is An Accountant.

Plot:

James is deeply in love with his friend of many years, Jessica, but does not dare to express his feelings. Finally, after being encouraged by his friend Anthony, James calls Jessica and sets up a date with her after two days. What follows is a hilarious turn of events in the form of a series of public nightmares.

Character Development:

The characters have been beautifully developed and are quite loveable and adorable so much so that they make the readers beam with happiness.  Especially loved the character of Anthony, who plays the role of a self-styled love guru and nudges James to approach Jessica.

Story:

Toward its beginning, the story promises to be a roller coaster ride of emotions. While the concept of the story is unique, it tends to become somewhat lost after the first two chapters itself. However, the author still manages to deliver a short, interesting, humorous, and romantic tale by the time the readers finish the book.

Writing style:

The writing style is simple and easy to understand and the language used is such that it manages to hold the attention of the reader from the beginning to the end. However, the excessively large number of grammatical errors play spoilsport and ruin the fun of the book. Moreover, despite its extremely short length of only 29 pages, several chapters in the book are repetitive.
I feel that the book could have turned out much better in terms of its storyline, description, and level of intrigue.

Final Verdict:

This is a good book for people looking for a short and funfilled romantic tale and I give it 3.5/5.
