Diego Maradona, the Prince of Football, left the world @60 years

One of the legendary footballers of this era, Diego Maradona, breathed his last yesterday (25th Nov 2020) at his home. His last word to his nephew was, “ I Feel Sick”. He died of a heart attack at his home in Buenos Aires at was just 60. Just two weeks back, he had brain surgery to stop bleeding and to remove the clot in the brain.
He debuted at the age of 15, and since then, he displayed the skill to become a legendry footballing star whom many will love to follow. Maradona created history in Football with his magical talent in soccer. He was extremely faster than his opponents to help reach the ball to the net. He will always be remembered for his “hand of God” goal against Mexico in the quarterfinal of the 1986 world cup, and the second one, the “Goal of the Century”.  He remained a master in keeping the ball under his control, devoid of his great speed.

Maradona always loved to live a colorful life, but this introduced him to excessive consumption of alcohol and drug. Such a colorful lifestyle appeared as a hindrance with several health issues to keep him away from football ground for many years.  India holds a special connection with Maradona as he was the one who promised to introduce BIG TIME football to this nation. Argentina, as a soccer team, achieved several successes on the ground during the tenure of Maradona as a team member.

Another legendry Brazilian footballer Pele mourned the demise of Maradona and said that he remained a dear friend of him. He further added that he wishes to play this game of soccer with Maradona in the sky one day. Pele, along with Maradona, was declared the joint winner of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award.

1986 England team member Gary Lineker remembered the contribution of Maradona in the game that defeated them and said, arguably he was one of the greatest soccer players of all time. Argentine President Alberto Fernandez declared three days of national mourning for this footballer whom the world loved a lot.

He made every possible effort to hide his tarnished personality. Maradona survived by eight children from four women, including his only wife Claudia Villafane, whom he divorced later.
It is not only Argentina, but the whole world is mourning the demise of this amazing footballer who remained the inspiration for many budding footballers.
