I have loved books belonging to the thriller and suspense genre, which is why I was quite excited about reviewing The Last Evidence. The novel authored by Suhas Inamdar features a well-designed cover page that gives a clear indication of the theme of the book. It features a man wearing a hooded jacket standing back to back with another person holding a gun. This in itself was enough to assure me that the book would prove to be an interesting read.
Ramgopal, a talkative tourist guide working in Delhi, has the habit of holding long and interesting conversations with his clients. He tends to impress his clients with his extensive knowledge of various topics. However, the home of each of Ramgoapl’s clients gets mysteriously robbed before they return home. As the police become increasingly suspicious of Ramgopal, he flees the city and takes refuge in an ashram located at a remote place. Soon Ramgopal befriends the local people and diverts his accumulated funds to gradually transform the entire region. The locals shower him with love and respect and the administration decides to reward him for his efforts. It is then that the ghosts of his pasts come calling threatening to snatch away everything he has achieved through his selfless dedication and service.
A per my expectations the book indeed proved to be an interesting read.  Suhas has managed to build up the suspense with a thrilling narration of the simplest events.  The story has been presented in a crisp and captivating style and the various twists and turns keep the readers engaged until the very end. The only thing lacking in this book is the proper character development, which tends to make the story somewhat unrelatable. However, I still consider The Last Evidence a good choice for people who love thriller novels and wish Suhas all the best for its success.
