Just look back and read the poems written by eminent poets like Rabindranath Tagore, Prem Chand, Kabir Das, Mirza Galib, and many others. You will find a sense of rhythm that encourages us to read them again and again. But as time passed, we experienced a change in the writing style of modern poets. The emotions remained the same, but the writing style turned out to be a storytelling style. I experienced the same another time when I picked the poetry collection (The Great Indian Anthology – Volume 3)

About the collection:

The book is a collection of 250 poems by 250 emerging poets of India. Each poem represents the emotion and feelings of the poet on variant topics. What made me fall in love with this collection, is that every poem is unique, and the presentation style is so different from, one another. It will not be wrong to say that it’s a bouquet full of colorful poems perfect, to impress readers in love with poetry. The use of words is simple, and that makes it easy for even a new poetry reader to understand the sentiment behind the poems. This book is an initiative by HBB publishers, and If I don’t take their name, that will be wrong. The storytelling style of poetry is gaining popularity now as it gives the scope to poets to take place in the hearts of poetry lovers easily.
Another specialty of this collection is short poetry. Pick any of the poems of any poet in this book… all are short, meaningful, and with a message. Few of the poems which impressed me include:
  • Scared By Poonam Yadav
  • Awaiting The Rainbow By Amana
  • Poem By Bhannu Vashishta
  • Mysterious Way By Rajat Kalsotra
  • The Wild And The Beautiful
The Remaining 245 poems are also brilliant in every sense, but the above 5 are my personal favorite.

Final Verdict:

I loved it and, I appreciate the compiler for making this anthology a unique one. This time giving it a rating is something quite difficult. The reason is it’s a collection of 250 different poets with different emotions. In short, it’s an outstanding collection.
