After green opened the heart, blue rose like the evening sky. It’s vast, calm, and truthful.
Blue never asks to rush forward. It teaches you expansion. Blue is the color of oceans that hold secrets and skies that hold silence. It does not ask, can you love?
It asks, can you express what you truly feel? Yes, it’s about communication.
Do you know that unspoken words do not disappear? They settle in the throat. And the throat belongs to blue.
Blue governs the Vishuddha (Throat Chakra), located at the base of the throat. This is the center of communication, truth, self-expression, integrity, and higher listening. If red anchors, orange flows, yellow empowers, and green opens, blue articulates.
Those with balanced blue energy speak clearly and calmly. It’s about calm authority, too. They do not shout to be heard. Their words carry weight because their voice delivers truth. They listen as deeply as they speak. Silence does not frighten them.
But when blue dims, expression becomes blocked. One may struggle to say “no,” fear confrontation, suppress opinions, or feel unheard. Communication turns either passive or explosive. On the other extreme, excessive blue energy can appear as over-talking, gossip, harsh speech, or rigid opinions presented as absolute truth.
The body, as always, reveals the story. Sore throats. Thyroid imbalances. Neck stiffness. Jaw tension. Voice fatigue. Even chronic coughing may reflect unsaid emotions. The throat chakra is closely linked with metabolism and hormonal regulation through the thyroid gland.
No one is holding you back; you should speak, but speak gently.
In color psychology, blue represents calmness, trust, intelligence, and reliability. It lowers heart rate and creates a sense of stability. This is why banks, technology companies, and corporate brands often use blue as it builds credibility. Lighter blues soothe; darker blues convey authority. Remember the logo colors of brands like HCL, Infotech, TATA, DELL, IBM, Citi Bank, Bank of America, Facebook, Visa, or Yes Bank? All have blue …. can you now relate?

Yet too much blue can feel cold, distant, or emotionally withdrawn. Balance is essential. Blue should cool the fire and not extinguish warmth.
In homes, blue works beautifully in bedrooms and meditation rooms, encouraging rest and introspection. In workspaces, it enhances focus and rational thinking. However, in excess, it may reduce appetite or emotional warmth.
Healers work with blue through chanting, journaling, conscious communication practices, and crystals like Lapis Lazuli, Blue Lace Agate, and Aquamarine. These tools show up as reminders that truth is healing even when uncomfortable.
In occult science, blue is linked with higher wisdom, divine protection, and spiritual guidance. It carries expansive ether energy. Protective amulets, sacred symbols, and Nazar charms often incorporate blue to ward off negativity and protect the aura. Blue is the bridge between the human voice and universal truth.
If you are feeling unexpressive or unable to deliver what you should at the right time through speech and miss the chance, then you need the blessings of Blue. If you feel restless and depressed, embrace the power of blue (Light Blue).
When I was a college student, it was unimaginable for me to stand on stage and speak confidently. My hands used to shiver because of tension and lack of confidence. Then a man came into my life, who was a tech person and is now my husband. Technology made an entry into life through him. I don’t know whether it was being in love with him or something else, but I started getting attracted to the color blue. And yes, now I am a confident speaker, taking sessions, giving lectures, and doing much more. Now I wonder who to give the credit to for my peak in confidence? Is it him or my numbers on the grid and planetary movements? 🙂
Blue teaches discernment in speech:
What you are saying is it true?
Is it worthy?
Is it kind?
Are you confident?
If red says, Live.
If orange says, Feel.
If yellow says, Choose.
If green says, Open.
Blue says, “Speak your truth.”
And when the voice aligns with the heart and mind, the sky within becomes vast and clear like an ocean that no longer hides its depth.

So Blue rules the throat chakra. Fascinating posts, these. Blue is also the colour of success, which is why it is used on visiting cards and professional stationery
I like the way you call blue a bridge between man and creator. I’ve lately started looking for blue. And you such a good speaker, reading about your change in confidence levels is so heartening.
I liked the calm tone of this piece. The way you connect the color blue with voice, expression, and inner balance makes it feel thoughtful and reflective.
Very intriguing. I’ve always loved blue, but didnt realise that it plays a part in our articulation skills. Very revelatory posts about colours, Samatha! Love it. Keep them coming.
Your reflection on the color blue and how it connects to finding one’s voice was so beautifully expressed. It felt calm, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful
The colour of the sky holds truth. It is always fascinating to see what colours symbolise.
This is a very interesting post. I didnt know blue could do so much. I have always spoken well, and I never have blue around me. Not in interiors or in my wardrobe. Thyroid imbalance, throat and whatnot, you have said, is affected. My yoga teacher says that unspoken words are locked in our jaws. While doing face tapping, he makes us linger around the jaw. learning a lot about Chakras from your series. Thank you for sharing.
Wow..your life story added a zing to this week’s column. I love blue and rarely do I feel blue..maybe I am enjoying the colour in moderation. I love the way you connect colour with chakra, and emotions

I like your advice about speak, but speak gently. a good lesson from blue.
Very interesting series, Samata. Does dulling of blue cause stammering by any chance? If yes, how can better speech be revived?
I loved this piece on blue. It reminded me how certain colors quietly shape our emotions…blue especially feels calming and reflective, like the sky or sea. Beautiful insight!
Lovely piece, Samata. Blue has always been a favorite, and the way you connected the color with emotions, chakra, and gentle speech was really interesting. It also makes one notice how colors quietly shape how we feel. Enjoyed reading this.
I like the colour blue – i find it peaceful – be it the colour of the sky or the ocean – it always calms me.
Loving this series. I love blue. It reminds me of the ocean. My Dad, on the other hand, is scared of this calm hue.
