2 starHero is the remake of the 1983 classic of the same name starring, Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri. The movie, which is the launching pad of star kids, Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi, also stars Sharad Kelkar, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aditya Pancholi, Vivaan Bhatena, Suresh Menon, Anita Hassanandani and Chetan Hansraj. The film directed by Nikhil Advani was released in theatres on 11th Sep 2015.

A gangster Pasha played by Aditya Pancholi asks his trusted goon Sooraj played by Sooraj Pancholi for kidnapping Radha played by Athiya Shetty, who is daughter of an IG Mathur played by Tigmanshu Dhulia. Sooraj meets Radha and takes her with him pretending to be a cop shouldered with the responsibility keeping her “safe” for a couple of weeks. However, Radha soon learns the truth that Sooraj is a goon who has actually kidnapped her, but is unable to leave him as the two have fallen in love. On her request, Sooraj decides to change his ways. He surrenders and is imprisoned for 2 years, making Pasha feel that he has betrayed him. Radha waits for Sooraj to be released from jail, well aware of the fact that the two still have to overcome various hurdles before they can unite.

Despite the entire media buzz that Hero created, prior to its release, the movie fails to make any impression. The movie does not have anything new to offer besides which it follows a really weak script. The performances of Sooraj and Athiya do not create any spark as both the newcomers are almost expressionless. The highlight of the movie is the performance by Aditya Pancholi, Tigmanshu Dhulia and the two small screen stars, Sharad Kelkar and Vivan Bhatena.

Overall this new flick fails to create even half the magic that the original and IndiaCafe24 gives Hero a rating of 2 stars.
