The front cover of the book depicting a battle of the elements of fire and water along with a golden bow and arrow, give only a small indication of the interesting story that is bound within. With Mithra, Sahana L. has proved her knack of presenting a simple story in an extremely refreshing manner making it truly interesting read. From the moment I starting reading the first page of the book I knew that I would be turning pages continuously till the very end. I truly relished every aspect of this story through the well penned narrative of author Sahana L, who deserves praise for her ability to weave magic with words.

The story is of an era of kings, queens, princes and princesses along with the countless nameless warriors who sacrifice everything in the service of royalty. The story revolves around three main characters of Veera, the female warrior, Dhruva, the male warrior and Shaurya, the charming yet ruthless prince. The story is a love triangle set in the backdrop of duels and wars with each character facing a personal turmoil and battling emotions that are related to love, duty and sacrifice.

The interesting twists in the lives of the individual characters are woven subtly into the storyline making it truly enjoyable. I felt the happiness, pain and compassion for every character as I read the pages and was engrossed into a world that was completely detached from the real one. The emotions of love, companionship, jealousy, and even the internal struggle faced by the characters have been beautifully highlighted.

Overall I found Mithra to be a really good read and hats off to Sahana for producing such a wonderful work of fiction that feels so realistic. I am eagerly looking forward to more such mesmerizing work from this wonderful writer.
